Wherever he was headed, this young man was dressed to impress. But as he sat on a bench in an Atlanta train station, he had trouble tying his necktie.

Luckily, an older couple noticed his struggle and jumped in to lend a hand. The moment was captured in a photo taken by an onlooker that is now spreading far and wide.

The man who photographed this seemingly random act of kindness, Redd Desmond Thomas, tells the story in his caption.

As Thomas writes, the woman in the red coat was the first to notice the well-dressed young man having difficulty. She asked: "Do you know how to tie it properly?" to which he responded, "No ma'am."

The woman tapped her husband and told him to "teach this young man how to tie his tie." And not only did the older man teach him the steps; he watched to make sure his pupil could do it himself.

"The older gentleman moved without hesitation [almost a reflex response] and gave him a step-by-step tutorial; then — afterward — the elder gentleman watched the young gentleman repeat the steps and show him that he had it."

"I LOVE THIS," read the final words of Thomas' caption.

And so do thousands of others. Since the photo was posted on Facebook on Saturday, it has been liked more than 445,000 times and counting.

"This is how humans should treat each other. Well done," one man wrote.
