TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for a rockstar weekend editor/producer. What do we want from you? You must display a high level of independence and decisiveness as you won’t have the safety net of a manager on site. You’ll produce our homepage and app, run social accounts, and create content in tandem with broadcast colleagues in the studio. We’re looking for a news-hungry self-starter who knows how to find, write and produce heartwarming, hearty stories, make them original to us and optimize for search and sharing. For you, creativity does not end with storytelling.
Experience with multiple platforms – from video to social – is a must. You must be comfortable working under deadlines and amid breaking news. Appreciation for TODAY’s broad range of topics and personalities – from hard news to entertainment to lifestyle, celebrities and newsmakers to ordinary individuals, with a good grasp of topics and stories of high interest to women and young families – is required. Enthusiasm for TV is a must. Beyond excellent journalistic chops, you must bring a work hard, play hard mentality to our newsroom (just like Al). Bring wit and humor – no puns will go unappreciated! Be prepared to tell us your spirit animal when you arrive. The job is a yearlong position (with possibility to extend) located in New York City. The shift will start at around 6:30AM, Thursday to Monday.
